Let's See Your non-Box Art Vehicles

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I am new here, but have lurked for a while. I am just starting to collect the now-vintage RCs that I lust after in my youth. I have rebuild my old Clodbuster, rebuilt a Clod for my boy, and have started rebuild a Frog I got for 20 bucks. I will also be starting on my old RC10 soon. I may be picking up a Striker and an FX10 in a few days as well. Anyway, I get lots of good inspiration from you guys here, so thanks for that.

It looks like I differ from most of the people here in that I am not much of a box art person. Box art is all good, but it's just not my thing. So, I thought it would be fun to have a thread for non-box art cars. I figure it will be good for inspiration and help get everyone's creative juices flowing. Let's see what you got!

In my case you'd have to ask what is box art because I rarely paint them like the box.

Here are some of my Rough Riders

Nice builds guys. I myself prefer boxarts, but have made a few, that's not. Here is my fully custombuild Clod, and a Boomer I once made:

I really think this should have been the box art for the hornet instead of black

You mean you're supposed to paint 'em like the one on the box?

(Some great paint jobs in this thread. Absolutely LOVE that red, green, and white Avante.)

This is probably my most un-box art car I've done.

That's a shortened TL01 configured to RWD, with a Kamtec Baja bodyshell :)

That paint job really makes it attractive by high ligting the various penals that made up the body. The decals are OK after noticing the painted nose for cat or rabbit like front.

What shell is that pink one? And what chassis is it on.

Two that stand out for me, and there are some great ones here, but the Spektrum Avante and XV's Manta Ray which looks miles better than the box art. I used to have a manta ray years ago!
