Name the metal gear diff....

Anyone know what these are for? I've got bag full of these sets and just want to check what they are before I put them in my parts listings

Hi Chris,

They look like the diff gears that are in the TL01, FF02, M03 cars.

Pretty sure that Tamiya actually used that diff gear in most cars & buggies[]

They are fitted in the TB01 diffs too.

(check manual: 58262 page 4)

Yep as said above - Planetary gears for a the stock diffs in alot of cars - Tlo1, Tao2, Tao3. Get a set of gears with a bigger dimention also for cars like the Blitzer beetle (i think).

Also have heaps of those!!!

they look very similar to the ones in the jugg2 and mammoth dump truck, but probable only similar in design, i think my dumpers ones are bigger[]

Sorry, but I thought everyone who has ever built Tamiya cars in the past should know these diff gears, they are so common today ... that was it, what made me think you may play a joke or so ...

lol - no joke, found I had a big bag of them in my spares pile and wondered what they were...I've only ever built SRBs, Willies and clod based monster trucks. I have others but not taken them apart yet []

The star shaft and bevel gears are also in use in the TLT-1's front and rear gear diff assemblies.
