Nuremberg Toy Fair 2015

Recommended Posts

I am really liking the Aqroshot. That shell didn't really do it for me on the Super Levant and Vajra, probably due to their bigger wheels/taller tyres. However with the Blitzer wheels and Street Rover tyres, it looks far better proportioned to my eye. I am really looking forward to adding one to my fleet!

I can't say the same of the Sandshaker though. That shell looked okay on the Wild Dagger and really rather good on the Stadium Raider, but the new headlight decals are just downright hideous to my eye, and it leaves too much chassis sticking out below the sills.

The Pajero is not really new, but it is nice to have the shell available again. May be worth getting one as a basher alternative to my hardbody Pajero shell. I just wish they had taken this opportunity to release a CC02, or even just a CC01E with decent steering and rear links out of the box...

So much awesomeness in one show! That WR-02C is coming to my fleet, no questions asked!

Loving the Wheeler. That is my for sure purchase from this go round unless there is a 959 hidden behind the Unimog.

Not impressed by the DT-03t shell :-( but it might give ideas about how to mount other better looking bodies on that chassis

Indeed. I wonder if they are the same tyres as used on the Street Rover? The tread doesn't look very aggressive. May not be much of an offroader then, but it might make for an excellent basher on rough tarmac!

Unfortunately: no! I've bought 4 for my Blitzer with this hope and I have to admit that that tires perform like soap donuts -_-

I should probably start a new thread for this question but how do Tamiya come up with the model numbers?

Some are the standard 85xxx numbers I know about-

58603 Volkswagen Amarok Custom Lift (chassis unknown, Hi Lift maybe?)

58609 Mercedes-Benz Unimog 425 (CC-01)

But why are these numbers in a different format 84xxx?

84400 Dark Impact White Version (DF-03)

84401 Toyota FJ Cruiser (Orange Version) (CC-01)

A new Dark Impact... and a Truggie DT-03 ... excellent. And now I have an even better reason to get a CC-01, always wanted a Shogun

DT-03T Aqroshot: I think it looks just fine, at least this body seems to be adapted pretty well to the chassis. Better than the "wanna-be" short course truck 1/12 Nissan Titan on the DT-02 chassis.

I might want to reuse that Aqroshot/Super Levant shell for my Mad Bull.

Great to see the Willy's Wheeler Honda City Turbo coming back. The details on the body are gorgeous.

The TT-02T Sand Shaker is an interesting concept. Let's see if the chassis goes more the TT-02 or TT-02B way. It could use a different paintjob to let the supplied decals look better.

Thanks a lot!

The Grand Hauler is the obviously the item number 56344 "King Hauler Custom" (56343 as "Complete Kit" with radio gear and MFC) announced in December:

https://www.facebook.com/mokeikagaku/posts/605959829530957

The Grand Hauler means $1K :D

Thanks all of you for putting up photos so far.

But so far, haven't see any thing I would get excited about, maybe is my age. :(

58603 Volkswagen Amarok Custom Lift (chassis unknown, Hi Lift maybe?)

It's a bit nasty :(

Dodgy stick on fender flares and some weird front end trimming

Looks like Twin Det chassis (Battery across chassis and sticking out the sides)

Closest thing I could find, woulda made a superd 3SPD;

I was excited to see an Amorok..and even more so when I read possibly on a high lift chassis. Always wanted a 3 speed vehicle. But then I read it will be on a WT chassis. Kind of disappointing. I guess that means I'll sell my twin detonator in favor for the Amorok, depending on how scale it is.

Yes, it's confirmed to be on the WT-01N chassis, so I reckon the Twin Det chassis with the "N" meaning narrow => TL01 suspension arms.

Overall my feeling is one of disappointment . There is little really new so far . Mostly re hash's of existing kits with existing body's . The WW is cool but not something i would personally buy . Amorok - well what can i say . its just another boring euro pickup . Remove the VW badge and it could be made by any manufacturer from anywhere in the world . No appeal to me what so ever .
