Guys and Gals,

I have a Vanquish that I have recently restored. I used a Vanquish manual to help me do this and so I have built the car using only original stock Vanquish parts.

I have in my possession a complete ball race set for the Vanquish and I also believe that I have a Dual Ball Diff and Torque Splitter set that can also be used to hop up the Vanquish.

Not wishing to damage anything or waste hours of my time guessing, can anyone tell me exactly what bearings the ball races will replace. Has anyone got any information/scans on how a dual ball diff/torque splitter set is correctly installed into the Vanquish.

Your help as always is hugely appreciated.

Thanks,

Buzz.

Just have a look at the egress manual for the ball dif. I would not install the torque splitter as it makes the car more agressive and less stable during slow downs.

For the ball bearing, start with the wheel hubs, and the center diff (urgent as its axle is fragile and prone to usage).

I just rebuilt an egress without the manual. The one on this site starts at page 20, so not much use. If you have the vanquish manual, just look down the side bars on each page and find each bearing. Page 4 for example is the rear gearbox, where they use the terms ball bearings and metal bearings (bushings). Just measure all the bearings in your set for ID and OD (in mm) make a list so tyhat you can match them one by one. You will need to do a little detective work to guess the size from the manual part number, but it is not hard i.e. an 830 is probably 3mm ID and 8mm OD.

As for the ball diffs, only install them if you are planning to run on a tight track with high grip surface where you will need diff action. Most offroaders stuff their diffs with putty or heavy grease to stop/reduce the diff action so ball diffs would not be a benefit.

Page 31 of the manual shows a Metal Bearing Bag with 4 different sizes of SC1-SC4 and the qty of each. I think that for all bearings in total, you should have 8 in the axles, 6 in front gearbox, 6 in rear gearbox and maybe a couple for the steering arms.
