NEW Porsche 911GT2 Club Sport TA02SW

Recommended Posts

I'm about to start body number five for mine, though it was about time I did the original. Time to use everything I've learnt doing these and more, since the last one 18 months ago.

Don't think I've posted these in this thread:

NOW THIS I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE...… :)

Obviously your Sand Scorcher Porsche is my favourite.  But I think the next one is going to have details we've never even thought of....

Truck Norris, where did you get the roll bar parts? I really like the extra realism

Since I have got hold on a TA05 IFS (not ver1 or ver2)

is Tamiya 53928 & Tamiya 50942 enough to do the conversion? ( including spacers)

and is it even possible with the IFS suspension?

I bought one of these off of ebay a few months ago, added some exhausts, windscreen wiper and number plates. Its painted tamiya mica red with the window rubbers painted black on the outside as the decals were awful to fit.

Took it out for its first run today as the weather was good - its on a sport tuned motor. Not as quick as i thought it would be a but has lots of grip!. Managed to break off one of the exhausts but luckily retrieved it so will foam tape back on.

Now need to go home and tighten the ball diff as that appears to have come undone and be rattling a bit.

Are you wanting to shorten a TA05 to suit the 911?

Yup, that is what I am after, but to keep the ifs suspension if possible?

What version of the 05 do you have? Just the IFS? And what suspension arms are you using?

The ta04ss rear suspension arms reduce the wheelbase by about 10mm.

But they use different uprights to the TA05.

The 53928 arms won't make any difference.

I used the reinforced ta04ss set to reduce the wheelbase on a TB Evo 3 using a few spacers to fit a Capri Zakspeed body, which is 251mm.

This is good info, thank you. I have a TB03 I was planning to make into a TB03R tribute but make it fit the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 251mm wheelbase. Time to forge ahead.

Back to TA02SW discussion...

So basically I need the TA04ss rear arms and ta04 uprights?

I have the ta05 ifs (not v2)

Is it 251mm wheelbase you are after?

I can compare a few chassis's tonight to double check if you want!?

No, as I see now, since it was a time ago. The ta02sw seems to be 236mm, and width of 165-168mm. Well that would easier fit a smaller chassis then the ta05. I have something else in mind.
