Thanks for all the thoughts on this. I really would like another option for my 237mm Lancia 037 body. I have been playing around with a TA02SW chassis but for some reason it does not work that well. The rear wheels have a lot of toe-in and as such it just does not sit as well. Oh well I may as well stick with a TA03RS for now.

The TA05 ver 1 should work. As stated the suspension hinge pins are longer. Also Tamiya listed it as an optional chassis for the body... They would not have done so unless they felt it would work.

Nope.. Tamiya hasn't even officially announced it so.. It maybe a couple of couple of months out

I just found the livery I would use, be it black or white. Most likely black because my PIAA 911 is white.

I saw a 918 Spyder on Sunday night,. It was white with the martini livery. What a gorgeous car! Tamiya needs to release that body asap.

Kyosho has it in 200mm (lame). Their bodies are also over priced, much more expensive than Tamiyas

i need to see the innards of this model, i need to know what the innards are (IF its on the TA02) ... if its standard red or black, i don't think i will get one, it needs to be silver or something new (gearbox casing)

if its on a "new chassis" when i say new i mean a current chassis modified with say different arms etc then i will definitely not get one, but i will purchase a body or two

This is how I've been planning to paint mine (TA03R-S) for a long time now, I just haven't had the bravery to do it!

Now, if they brought it out with the blue TA02T cases, then that body and colour choice would be awesome!!!! Blue chassis, some choice blue alloy hopups, blue Porker body...... I'm feeling it!

I don't think 84399 is actually going to be an official Tamiya release. This is why:

First- the picture on tamiyablog is out from Tamiya Dickie catalogue

second- this car was not displayed at Nuremberg fair

third- 84399 is not mentioned on any Tamiya release list

fourth- this kit was not mentioned in any coming soon info from Tamiya to distributors

My guess would be that this is a Tamiya Dickie (Europe) special, that won't be selling outside europe-

Again- this is only my guess , i might be wrong

I have this body, I'm going to slap it on my TA05 using the short arms from the TA04SS. That way when I storm down the street, it will look like a real Porsche 911GT2

If this kit does not get announced by Tamiya Japan in amongst all of the new releases for the forthcoming Shizuoka Fair in May then I think it is safe to say that this kit will indeed be a special release for Europe.
