Wandy is VIP at Stella

Ha.

Just send them an email at stellamodels@netvigator.com ...or simply use their contact link from the store. Everyone pre-orders from them this way when a new release is announced, even though the kit will not even be listed in the store yet.

Good to see that this is a proper release and not just something for the German distributors. I have pre-ordered one with Stella.

+1.

And with that, the re-re drought has ended for me. Just hope it has minimal impact on the value of my NIB 58172 because I paid a silly price for it.

I have a new in the box vintage Taisan body and one of the rere bodies that came out a few years back. This rerelease will kill the value of my vintage stuff but I'm glad I'll be able to buy bodies to do variant liveries

At first I was a little upset that they were not reissuing this with the original Taisan livery and box art. But the more I thought about it, I think Tamiya may have genuinely considered the interests of collectors as they have done in the past with other re-res. After all, if they really wanted to, it would have been all too easy for Tamiya to reissue this with the original box art and stickers. Just a few licensing issues that they have to sort out with the stickers. For those of us who are holding on to NIB 58172 kits, we stand to retain most of the value of our original kits because the boxes and stickers are not being replicated. But then again, maybe they would surprise us at the Shizuoka show. They have all the time in the world (since January) to have stickers and box art sorted out...

I'm glad they are re-releasing a TC kit in its entirety and not just a body. Maybe we will see a Ta03r-S with Lancia 037 soon ;)

Hmmm, I do possess some Taisan decals mwuhuhahaha!

In light of this re-release (of sorts) I have finally pulled my finger out and started painting my GT2 in a beautiful blue colour this evening. Pics to follow...

Originals were drawn in the 90s, computer graphic capabilities and resolution weren't as high as they are now.

The Taisan file I have was redrawn by a graphic artists, the detail he added to head lights, tail lights were incredible

Likewise - my first hobby-grade RC car was a FF-01 that I campaigned against TA-02s, but I only made the move to 4WD touring cars myself much later, in the TT-01 era. It would be nice to see what I missed.

My love affair started with the ta03 series cars, got back in to the hobby with a ta05 and recently added a pair of ta04's to the fleet.

You can probably see where I'm going with this.

When it comes to pulling off, I always think of 911's (and their drivers).....
