Super Astute Jeek's Specs Build

Recommended Posts

Thank You Sir, It's been really great watching your progress and custom work on this car. To me, that is absolutely stunning Mate !

I'm still constantly learning about this car and I think some of the choices you've made for this one are really smart for a casual runner. Astute front arms allow much better up-stroke when combined with CVA II Dampers, stronger Astute alloy posts for the little upper chassis deck, TTC trans, ORB Racing parts etc are all great improvements.

Now you just need some tyres with real grip and that thing will haul :D

Whoa, that is indeed very nice! Great to hear it drives almost as well as it looks, too!

The next step will increase handling for sure: new tires and several hardness springs to try.

that just looks awesome. I mean as, if Tamiya could have pulled a ReRe White Astute, you beat them.

its really nice man great work.

During my last holidays I've shooted this short video. Unfortunately the grass was little long so the day after I've cutted it in moquette style... but the rain started to fall in the afternoon and it continued to fall for all the following days -_-

Your slippery clutch slips a little bit too much than normal in my opinion.

I agree but there were several adverse environmental factors: long grass, some degrees of slope... a wrong pinion. Unfortunately the heavy rain of the following days prevented me to find the right setup.

yeah I didn't see any issue with the clutch, just the long grass was holding it back I think.

looks awesome I think I will make a Jeeker Astute special at some point!

any chance to sell some decals my friend?

Thanks to you both! You are ever very kind with this car :-) Unfortunately the unique decals you're talking are not on sale outside Japan :-(

How are the ORB parts holding up Jeek?

Imho ORB's parts are pretty tough: they resisted 2 or 3 big impacts and scratches due to use are not so deep.

I'm in the midst of restoring / upgrading my childhood Astute. Whats the update on this? How are the arms working out? Any handling issues? Any binding or reliability issues with the set up?

Ciao, sorry for the delay. My SA performs well: arms work fine and there aren't issues with 3d printed parts (that are very strong).

Sorry but I'm not logging in here on TC as I want due to a change of job/city.
