I may have one, but to be honest if you want for running then best making your own. The old cells are not likely to charge properly or completely and therefore wont provide full speed or duration.

Thanks guys [:)]

I'm sure I have an old one somewhere but I need a new one to run the car with. I think I will buy the cells and solder one up.

I recently re-kindled my old interest in Tamiya and have unearthed my Sand Rover from the depths of the loft !.

I remember rebuilding it with a new tub years ago and it's not been used since, it's pretty mint.

Was thinking of installing a black sport tuned motor and an ESC and then running it.

On the other hand, I'm scared of breaking it [:(]

LOL @ The Slayer, donate my Sand Rover, no chance !!!!.

I've been searching for the battery pack today with no luck in finding it [:(]. I found the old charger and quick charger but no battery. I may have thrown it out years ago because it was no good, what an *** !.

I also can't find the front bumper and the headlights, I'm sure I have them somewhere.

Did find some brand new gears and body mounts though !. Prior to laying the car up years ago I had rebuilt it with a new tub, gears, hardened UJ's and brass bearings. Also Rough Rider wheels and tyres.

I no longer seem to have the original wheels and tyres though which is a shame.

Cleaned the body up this afternoon and removed all the stickers plastered over it from my schoolboy days !. Looks much nicer without them. Paint is not bad for a job done over 20 years ago. Wouldn't mind stripping it and painting it metallic purple but quite a bit of work involved I guess.

Can't wait to run this car again, but need to sort some power for it.

Have seen a saddle pack (two lots of 3 cells) which may fit in the chassis. An ESC and perhaps a new motor will see it sorted. Don't trust the MSC.

Your LHS can make one for your using the latest 3300mah batteries or you make your own....I had my made as my soldering skill and equipment are no where near like those of my LHS. Just make sure the battery holder is not metal as there is no plastic housing like those of Tamiya which may short it.

I am about to embark on restoring a vintage 7.2v Hump battery packs. I got an old one with a recent eBay purchase of a Sand Scorcher. I am sure the cells are dead. My plan is to carefully open the old plastic case, make up a new pack (3000 amp/h) and then seal it back up. The idea is the power pack will still look orignal with almost 3 times the running time. I'll let you know how it goes.

I put my ESC behind the steering servo. Then a stickpack will fit in the radio box with the lid on. Put an extra long bolt up through the front box mount. This stops the battery touching the steering rod. [;)]

Same here! I cant believe ready made Ni-Mh 'bump' packs are not availible. I have different problems to most above, I can solder well, I just dont have the time.. :-(

Looks like its time to make the time...

Any suggestions on what cells to use, I would love a cool run-time..

Probably because there isn't a car produced today that fits a hump pack, so why produce them.

dont buy cheap batteries - i bought 2 brand new on ebay (not any brand like sanyo or gp) and they cant give enough amp to power a 540 properly. i melted the blue heat shrink wrap when i ran them in my 12 double mr4bc pro.
