I have recently acquired a second hand Baja Champ roller, it seems all standard but has no motor (or pinion gear obviously).

I have purchased a Tamiya Sport Tuned motor but have no idea about pinion gears, size, teeth, anything.

Any advice on which one I need to buy will be greatly received.

Thanks.

The Baja Champ can use a 19, 21, or 23 tooth 0.6 module pinion gear..

With a Sports Tuned motor, and the BC's buggy wheels, I would suggest a 19 tooth steel pinion..

Mod 0.8 and 32dp are close enough to be interchangeable as 32dp works out as mod .78 - close enough not to matter with the tolerances used in most RC models. However mod .6 and 48dp are too far apart to be interchangeable - you'll end up chewing your spur.

The sport tuned I ordered from HK arrived much, much faster than I was expecting and has caught me on the hop :o
