Suitable alternate greases for gearboxes!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

What kind of grease do You use in Your gearboxes besides Tamiya original grease? I find that the Tamiya original grease has very small tubes and doesn´t last that long. What kind of grease can be used instead? What kind of grease should be avoided with the plastic gears in mind?

Thanks, Mattias

White Ceramic grease (for plastic - plastic or plastic - metal) does only need to be applied in light coats.

Similar things can be said about the dark grey molybdenum grease (metal - metal).

If you follow this rule, the supplied tubes should last for the whole build. Some kits come with some sort of translucent all-purpose grease.

as above. Tamiya greases can be had in larger tubes and last ages if used correctly. Gears only need a smidge of ceramic grease. :)
