So I'm addicted to The TT-01 chassis it simple its clean and fairly cheap.. Lots of simple Hop ups available and so I have 4 in various ranges of modification. This is an extreme conversion in my opinion as I spent more on the hop ups than the whole chassis.. I'm living state side so I've become partial to american muscle cars and that is the theme of most of my builds.

So I started withPosted Image

Plain old basher... Except for the Hpi meats front and rear a little 26mm and 30mm action there

A clean chassis had full bearings and aluminum (Aluminium)shaft.

Away horrible black front end, hello shiny red,Posted Image

Well this is a combination of kits because I hate to do things by half your standard yeah racing kit with an RC damper front and rear box plate and suspension hangersPosted ImagePosted Image

As we all know front and rear assemblies on these are basically the same so I won't bore you with the repeat.

It came together fairly well and the weight allows me to throw it about a bit with little to no roll. I'm thinking a black sport tuned motor to keep it fairly tame but this is my show piece.. Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

I've gone with a Parma 53 ford body, bought as Chevy but I was corrected by Crash thank you sir.

This my first multiple level masking job and add the flames and there are aspects of the painting I'm not happy with. They where hand drawn and done with blue painters tape. Better next time. Enjoy the pics. Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Wow, lots of bling.

I also have lots of TT01 chassis - I am a petrolhead and usually justify buying the entire chassis kit because of a particular bodyshell, normally so I can just display it. I modified lots of TT01s back in the day, with 3Racing and GPM alloy parts. Before long though, I realised that the plastic was actually more precise and adjustable as well as being lighter and cheaper to replace. My modifications were for drifting primarily.

The problem with aluminium is that if you have a little accident there is no flex - so it bends instead of flexing, never to return to its' original shape.

Yeah my fast ones are all in plastic still, this baby is a show off piece more than a racer. I've put Shafts and bearings in my others and that's about as far as they'll get I've got a traxxas brushless system in one that I took my I off for a second the other day..... Straight into a wheelie bin. Fortunately the damage popped right out but there's a scar. Thanks for lookin

Wow that is a lot of red alloy!

You know what goes great with alloy? Carbon!

I think a carbon fibre upper deck and battery strap would round it off nicely.

Well done on the masking and paint by the way - excellent work for a first time!

i love the TT-01 chassis as well as it's so simple and nice and cheap.

I've never seen the red hop-ups before, i think my next TT-01 will be getting the red treatment the same as my blue one got.

So ever since I painted the truck body I've been a little unhappy with my flames as they are a little off. So I've received my new ford body and this is how I plan to trick it bdb4226138241fdd63c322122b20604a.jpg
