I've not had any direct experience with the TL01, but adding some toe-in onto the rear of a touring car chassis will generally make the rear feel more stable or "planted" under acceleration, and especially when powering out of corners..

Indeed - I found them to be of benefit on my TL01, taming the handling and improving straight line stability under acceleration. However all they did on my WT01 was accelerate tyre wear, so I went back to the stock ones.

I found them on a TL to greatly improve stability when exiting corners. You can get on the throttle much harder and earlier.

And because I'm already saying stuff, mandatory on the FF02. I found mine to insane pivoting-trolley-wheel-under-the-rear without them.

This is interesting. Are they best suited to track use or would they benefit a rally car on loose gravel or dirt?

Yes, makes anything better, except for sitting on a shelf, then it's a negligible advantage :P

With the exception of a drift car... I have seen those guys swap the toe in hubs side to side to give toe out, to make the car loose in the rear end..

I found that on the WT-01, with its massive wheel offset and flexible plastics, the rear wheels naturally adopt a mild toe-in stance when accelerating. Adding toe-in rear hubs to the equation makes for excessive toe-in, not helping the handling any further, but making the tyres wear quicker. That was my experience anyway.
