Hi all,

I'm Marco from Italy and I'm new in the forum and newbie... I'd like to restore my old RC toy in the subject (Jet Hopper Turbo):

The car is missing of the motor and the motor cover/cup, I can't found the remote control and I don't know if the electronics is still ok. :(

I've started searching info about the motor and if I'm not wrogn the original one was Mabuchi RE-280SA-2295 that could be replaced with a more powerful one Mabuchi RC-280SA-2865 but I can't find the exact model here in Italy. Can you help me to find it or a good alternative?

What about this motor?

I'm thinking also if wouldn;t ber better to remove all the electronics and make a fresh actual one or just search for a motor and a remote controller... what do you think about it?

Can you suggest me a good kit or a list of objects to buy in order to change all the electronics?

PS: I could be interested also to buy another car like mine to use as spare parts so if someone has it, please let me know.

Thanks!

Marco

Can you solder? If you buy a new motor then you will have to be able to solder it in. Let us know.

Alistair G.

Yes, no problem with the soldier!

I also have Dremel and several tools... not really expert but I can make some little works with your help. :)

Thanks for response.

If you do buy a new motor, you are going to have the problem of having no motor pinion to fix onto the new motor.

I bought a Jet Hopper with it's original motor and pinion all in place, and simply removed the existing electronics board and installed my own receiver and steering servo. I used a 6V 5xNiMH 1.2V AA cells battery pack for the motor.

I think the only way forwards for you is to buy another Jet Hopper with the motor / gearbox intact.

Unless you fancy the idea of putting a powerful brushless motor in it like Mark did?

Alistair G.

I'm searching for an Hopper but here in Italy is not really simple... I found couple of Hoppers in US but the shipping costs to Italy are so expenisve. :(

Considering I'll found sonner or later a compatible motor or the original one... Can you please suggest me a good electronics, servo and remote that fit on our Hopper?

Yes, I really like to put all new on my car: more powerfull motor, electronics, servo ecc... but I can't understand what to buy. If you or Mark could help me I really appreciate that way too.

It would help me also.. I want to rebuilt my hopper which is not working {the receiver is malfunctioned, it goes forward only in turbo mode, and steering only when a moving stick is pressed, but then it blocks movement so it olny steers, or only goes turbo forward..} I want to replace electronics so it will work at least as original, but it has to be as cheap as possible.. Thanks
