You could buy 5 TXT's or even 15 Blackfoot extremes but in the end you would still not have a 3 speed truck. Their expensive because they are in demand with very little supply. I would venture to say that every three speed sold, at least 60% of those sellers will eventually regret selling them.

The 3 speeders are not about performance. That is the last thing they have to offer. Scale realism - that is what every 3 speed truck is really all about.

if you want performance, buy the current stuff, there is no comparison of today's large tire monsters...but if you want a piece of RC history and realism than any of the 3 spd is for you but prepare to pay and sometimes is better to pay for a complete and good condition 3 spd than source the parts later, which will cost more. But beware if Tamiya decides to re-release the 3spd (I was told the chances are slim to nil) than you'll be kicking yourself for shelling out the big bucks. Bottom line do you want it bad enough and pay the current market price.
