Strip it down to every last screw. Clean all parts using soap and toothbrush, rinse well. Inspect all parts carefully for cracks or other damage and replace if necessary. Put it all back together and voila. Boomerangs are excellent runners by the way, and the front and rear suspension arms are the Boomerang's weak spot.

I agree with Pizzachaude except from the line about the front and rear arms. ;)

Anyone try tossing the bits into the dishwasher? Not sure how hot it gets or if the ABS would suffer.

I've put stuff in the dishwasher before, but usually remove them after 30/45 mins rather than leave them for the full cycle. I prefer to clean parts by hand if I can though.

Water Displacement 40 is not a lube oil but, as the name suggest, an anti water product with cherosene.
It was made by U.S. Army in the sixties for the underground nuclear lauch sites manteinance.
It is aggressive with plastic and ruins the rubber.

I suggest to use a delicate degreaser, the dish soap and an old toothbrush.
Also the dishwasher soap is agressive and can ruin the parts.

Usually I use the dishsoap for the plastic parts.
The inner gearboxes often are full of grease so I use the degreaser and then the dishsoap.
For metal parts I use nitro solvent and then the dishsoap but the metal is more robust than the plastic.
For all of these cleanings I use the old toothbrush.
The result is excellent.
