I plan to pick this up for 250 cndn tomorrow. the seller says its all original except for the repro decals of course. I dont usually buy anything preowned but ive been waiting 5 years for tamiya to do re re of this chassis model and im out of patience. I had a mud blaster that I built when it was released, but is there anything else I should look for when buying a used vintage RC like this one? any help is appreciated

Im gonna strip the body down and I hope it hasnt been painted, it doesnt look like it was. I will disassemble everything and rebuild it my way. I'll keep the hexshafts as it will be sitting on a shelf most of the time. I put thorp universals in my mudblaster BITD. I would like to keep this as close to original as possible minus the bushings.

I am keeping my eye on eBay for a nice original blackfoot. I might need to sell a couple of models before my wife gives me approval though.

Very nice Blackfoot. There was a NIB one on Ebay that ended today...I was very tempted to pull the trigger but I have bought too much lately. Sold for $500 usd. $250 cdn is a nice deal for that for sure...congrats.

There has been one for sale down under for $1000NZ which has had no interest I believe. These are great trucks. I have NIB body for a restore one day.

I took the top off when I got it home and noticed a technigold motor! At first glance I thought it was just some aftermarket can. The wheels have bearings as well. I'm not sure but it looks like some screws may be out of place here also.

If you are going to run it I would suggest you do old frog diff mod. Nice to have the techno gold motor.

I'm gonna run it, just not hardcore. I'll just bomb around in a parking lot or something(gently)so I'll keep the diff open. A few weeks ago I did see a set of tamiya universal shafts at my LHS for the frog/brat. I went back to get them and they were already gone so I'm SOL for now. I'm gonna pull the TG motor and drop in a stock Silvercan.

I just spotted this one here for a good price eh. Now I'm thinking of buyin it but my OCD kicked in and I noticed the battery covers are not the right ones for this chassis although they are in the kit. But their not the updated ones...I don't know what to do. Should I? Shouldn't I? I just realized this isn't one of the original 150, sorry about that

On the look out for a set of original decals myself, I could probably live with the reproduction ones, apart from the white backing on the drivers name bugs me so much. But on the other hand the copies are less than 1/3 of the price
