Looks fantastic TN, clearly a lot of effort taken as always and it really shows through. Great photography/editing skills also. Now you've set a precedent to buy two of every kit ;)

Love the result!

I have an original kc (unpainted, unused, but it has a few tiny holes in it) body laying around, waiting for its paintjob.

But I'm not skilled enough to do that paintjob and I have nobody to help me...

So maybe I'll get a replica body to test how a lexan shell gets painted.

After literally days and days of work I finally finished painting:

As the stickers have printed frames for the windscreen and sunroof I didn't mask and paint those, and the rear window will be hidden by the roll bar anyway.

After looking at it for a few minutes I decided I in fact, did want to do the frames. Trouble is they were already red... No problem, there's always the outside. Out with the tape again and some time later I had this:

This was last weekend and after masking it all up I discovered I was out of PS black. Ordered some more and it took longer than usual to arrive so I wasn't able to get it done over the weekend but it arrived today so I had a go.

Worked pretty well!

Your paint job came out fantastic ^_^ A few questions, if you don't mind:

1) Did you paint in the following order: Black - Blue - Red - White?

2) Did you mask over the previous sprayed colors before painting the next color, or did you just go over the first colors with the later colors?

Any advice would be greatly appreciatedB)

1) Yes, that order, although blue and red don't meet anywhere so it doesn't matter which you do first.

2) Yes, I masked off the blue when I did the red. No need to mask the black as it's dark enough that nothing will show through it. The white backs everything so just the windows left masked for that.

Thank you very much for the information ^_^ B)

Now, just need to work up the nerve to paint my new shell :o

That is beautiful! Nice job!

I'm restoring a King Cab right now and I hope it looks half as nice as what you did on yours. Really looks good.

I appreciate what time you took for all that detail.

Here are some pics of my restoration.
