hi my name is Jon and I just got my subaru xv tt02 kit to a rolling chassis, I'm planning on picking up a futaba s3003 servo and a spectrum dx2e radio with the sr201 receiver. I plan to make this my drift build, also looking into grabbing the tamiya subaru brat lexan body shell.

Hi Jon, welcome. If your planning on getting more models i would reconsider your choice in radios. The dx2e is a good radio but you might outgrow it really fast if you get more cars or even plan on adding switchable lights. I would recommend a 3 channel with model memory so you can grow in the hobby. A dx3c is a good cheap radio with 3 channels and a 10 model memory that will save all your presets/trims for each car.

Looks great so far. the wheel well need a little cleaning up and if you don't have access to a Dremel, you can wrap sand paper around a toilet paper roll and smooth out the curves.

Hello Jon, I see you are not so far from me. I am in San Jose pretty close to a few others on TC. I know of one other in SJ, one in Santa Cruz, Oakland and Antioch. Maybe a "Norcal" meet is in order one day? Feel free and shoot me an email if you are interested:

Are you suppose to grease them on a TT02?

I've never done it on any of my models before.. My thinking is that the grease can attract dirt and dust, and that quickly turns the grease into a grinding paste increasing wear faster than not lubricating them at all

Did the grease free them up?

If not, you could try putting a nut and bolt through the ball, and placing the excess screw thread in a cordless drill.. Add some toothpaste to work as a mild grinding paste, and spin the ball until it is free.. Just be careful not to go too far and create slop in the joint, and don't forget to wash out the toothpaste before reinstalling it in the car...
