Back then, I went for the Tamiya DF-02 shafts for my DT-02 Mad Viper project since they have a good reputation on Tamiyaclub. But I haven't fitted them yet.

I should have said DT-03 but there is not a deal of difference. I have the 3 racing one on my DT-02 already which must be why I ordered another. Guess I got a bit trigger happy with Banzai and ordered the Tamiya one.

I run the 3 racing on my df03 (so maybe irrelevant on a dt02?) , reason being that, if you have an incident and pop the rear balljoint turnbuckle, you don't have to spend ages hunting for a driveshaft.

Good point. I have seen how much the Tamiya ones sell for on EBay so I might get rid and use the 3racing one.

I had 3 Racing ones in my Dark Impact, briefly! Mine all fell apart quite quickly, the pin through the cup that holds the 2 halves together just kept dropping out. I went back to dog bones eventually, because I'm too tight to pay for real Tamiya ones which I would assume are much stronger, if the ones in my DB01 are anything to go by.

Ooo another prospective that is what I like to hear. I have 3 racing ones in my DT-02 but have not run it enough to kill them yet.

I guess I have no real reason to run them at all, I just end up buying Hop-ups before I build kits

I've run 3-Racing, Yeah-Racing & Tamiya universals, no issues with any of them, if I'm being picky the Yeah Racing ones you need to push the pin that holds the hex adapter in with pliers as the hole is probably a fraction of a mm too small which makes them stiff to install, but not impossible to remove.

If you experience the pin falling out, I've seen somebody on here grind the centre of the pin flat to give the grub screw something to hold on to.

Tobee also makes some nice universals, even with offset. And they are strong enough for Wt01 chassis too (same size as DT)
