markbt73 5316 Posted May 4, 2015 That "launched" thread has apparently really inspired me. I spent nearly a hour this afternoon trying to get a decent airborne photo of my Wild Willy 2. I must have taken fifty photos. And naturally, one of the best ones was early on: But I was having fun, and you never know, the next one might be better. Or not... Then I noticed something wasn't quite right. Can you "spot" it? Yep. Ah well. Small price to pay. Onward, and from different angles: This ended up being the best one. But nowhere near as amusing as these... Here's the setup. I started out with a double thickness of cinder blocks under the ramp, but then went down to a single. Much smoother launches that way. In the end, both rollbar lights were gone, the camera battery died before the car battery dumped, and I was dusty and grinning from ear to ear. Tomorrow, I plan to try the same thing with a different car. Clod, maybe...?
Gruntfuggly 562 Posted May 5, 2015 My eyes got the focus all wrong in your fifth picture - I thought it was the 1:1 car (Cadillac?) in the background getting air!
GregM 1109 Posted May 5, 2015 Nice pics. No Willys were spared. Losing spotlights always reminds me of the hilarious Blackfoot Bowling: http://www.rc101tube.com/show_movie.asp?id=
