I have a project in mind. I have heard tell that the WR/T share components with some other models. I am specifically looking at lower arms but might be interested in other components. What is shared with what and what is know to fit to what effect?

You can narrow the track with TL01 arms and dog bones or extend it with the TL01-B ones. (They may be the same as the stock ones, not sure)

The steering knuckles fit and allow a bit more wheel clearance.

Thunder shot CVD's fit.

Don't fit alloy lower arms if you are going to bash it, they tend to break gearboxes.

Alloy servo posts and a decent strength metal geared servo improve the steering no end.

(Don't know why half of the last sentence didn't post)

The WR/WT trucks do indeed use TL-01B arms as stock. As such, any lower arms from the TL family will fit, including those from the M-03/04/05/06 if you wanted to go really narrow.

If you wanted to go even wider, the TL-01B arms are the widest in that family, but you could go for the TG-10 long axles and 10mm thick hexes to gain about a centimetre in extra track width.

Or if it is ground clearance you are after, the M-05RA hubs can be used. These have a second set of pivot points that drop the axle relative to the arms, giving a few extra mm clearance.

Thanks, I will start part hunting.

WT-01 gearbox and front blank on a custom chassis. Short as possible for maybe a Lunchbox body.

Still thinking, lots of other projects but I fancy this one for a summer job

Maybe look at the Wild Willy 2 front end rather than the dummy gearbox from the WT, that should help you get it short enough for a Lunchbox.

Good point I will have a look at my wheeler for ideas. I was just after the engineering challenge and the WT front end opens the options for 4X4X4 if I feel very silly
