Show your alternative boddies

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this topic has been discussed before, but I couldn't find it on a search.

Let's see some pics of alternative boddies fitted to tamiya cars. ....

What I mean is any body that was not originally sold with your kit.

I have a tt01 lancia delta and a midnight pumpkin and I'm looking for some inspiration for alternative body shells.

Post away..........

Thanks!

That S2000 shell is one I did for my father, who is now retired from racing. It has never been run in anger, and sits as a display piece in his study along with the Model T. (Both have since had their body posts trimmed, and the Honda now wears a set of 3mm offset TE37s that fill the arches nicely.)

What are those wheels on the Rising Storm / DF-02?

They're stunning!

They are FTX Vantage wheels. You can get them in black or white.

I like them because they are a full 2.2 size, giving a bit of extra ground clearance and opening up a wide range of tyre options, such as the Turf Rippers seen on my Baja King, which (as the name suggests) are excellent on grass.

I love a bit of body swapping 😏 My favourite was probably the Rough Rider on the DT02, it fits so well you wonder why Tamiya haven't done it as a re-release. I'm currently working on another no-brainer by putting a Sand Scorcher body on a WT01 to get a decent handling Monster Beetle!

Yeah the DT02 with the rough rider has to be my favourite, such a nice fitment it looks factory and the tyre combo looks so good too, if I didn't already have projects to finish I would be tempted to make it a twin

I put a sandscorcher shell on the wt01 chassis to make a modern monster beetle.

I had an old hornet shell which was found in a job lot I bought. With a little adapting I fit it to my tl01b chassis to make a 4wd hornet. Here it is with the real deal.
