Good Afternoon all, I have a few Novak Brushless systems lieing around not utlizied since I got out of club racing. Id like to use one for my Mounty Rere so i can take advantage of Lipos. What NOVAK brushless motor do you recomend? Obviously I dont need balls out speed, just looking for some more torque and run time. Thanks!!!!!

I'm not sure any Novak BL motors are available in such high turn counts. If I were you, I would pick the motor with the closest kV to a silver can 540 brushed. You don't list what motors you have so it's hard to get closer than that.

If you are going to crawl with it, then I believe that you would be better off with a brushed motor.. (I read of an issue where brushless motors don't like being held at stall, and low RPMs which is something that often happens when crawling..)

If not, then a 21.5 or 17.5 BL motor would probably suit your requirements..

A Novak sensored esc ( Novak make a specific crawler esc ) with a 21.5T motor should be fine in a mounty providing you not looking for high speed.

My CR01 has a 40:1 reduction, I use a Novak timbuk2 and Tamiya transpeed 21.5T on mine.

The 21.5T is supposed to be equivalent to a stock motor, I reality its a bit hotter I think, also the brushless will be OK at stall and low speed as long as its a sensored motor, sensorless motors don't like low RPM or stall and tend to stutter and get hot because they rely upon the back emf from the motor when its turning to set the timing.

Thank you gents for the input. Nope, not crawling. Just driving it around with my three year old son who loves it.
