That's one re-built.

You know, seeing what the car was like when i got it, the gearbox internals were really in quite good condition

That's right, I'm sorry. It was the gear box that was different. As I was writing that I kept thinking "why didn't I just change the out drives to re-re?" So yeah, what he said.

The dampers on mine are the one part I never rebuilt, so I'd love to hear what people are running as well.

All but one of the Tamiya kits I've seen, current as well as in the distant past, all ship with Tamiya yellow "Soft" 200 weight oil. You can buy it in a 3-pack Item #53443.

Can one of you Gents help me again plz ?

I'd like to put the bumper back on that came on the car when i got it, however it's cracked quite badly, i've glued it, but it doesn't seem that it would last,

any ideas about maybe putting something underneath, over the split to strengthen it ?

So a replacement body is on it's way, original was terrible and the wing was broken, while i wait i thought i'd have a go at stripping the paint off the old body, just for a bit of experience doing it... anywho found this under all the paint..

I suggest to replace the bumper.

Every repair probably will fail at the first touch.

I believe this body almost unsaveable.

Did you paint the wheels yellow or are they off a different model I've never noticed before?

Tamico have a good website and I got some new re-release Boomerang decals from them for about ten quid, it's cleaning up pretty nice so new decals and body would make it look almost brand new

The story so far....

Boom_zpsc1fxwbfw.jpg

Needs a bit of tidying around the windscreen, clips the hold the body on.

The search continues for a good bumper, and i need to get the driver.

Compared to what it was like when i got it, im happy, glad i could save the old fruit.
