ive got two bodys for my blackfoot which im trying to restore (i have 3 to do!) the body is in mint condition, no cracks or anything! the only problem is all the paint that been put on the shell! its rancid! can anyone tell me a good way to remove it with out destroying the plastic? im hoping to respray it if i can get all the old paint off!

I've found on the Monster Beetle shell I'm doing, I've tried all of the safer methods, but the good old brake fluid is the only one which works.

Search for "stripping" in the general forums, should give you a lot of information, but the method I use hasn't been covered there as far as I can see - I'm using brake fluid, but rather than using a bucket I've simply covered the body with it, then wrapped it in a bin liner for a few days, and the paint weakens and flakes and washes off quite easily. Takes a bit longer than full immersion, but means you won't have to spend £30 on brake fluid!

I nearly bought a load of brake fluid for doing my Ranger body,.. then remembered my brothers a mechanic at Ford dealership [:I],.one quick text msg and i got 2 litres of used stuff for nowt[:D]
