Has anyone had a dispatch note yet from fusion?

Not yet but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Friday delivery...even though I wont be in to receive it ha haaa.

I decided today that this car is going to get built and bashed. What the badword. I always by new re-re's and leave them in their boxes, using only my knackered cars or modern non tamiya cars for bashing. I shall break my habit with this and use it well!

Oh, Fusion mentioned that this is easily the biggest selling re-re for them to date!

Looks like Mr Tamiya will leave this one selling for some time. May even become another Lunchbox at this rate, its certainly cheap!

I remember somebody from back in the day saying the Monster Beetle was an odd looking piece of RC.

Makes me wonder what that guy would say when seeing this one?

Lol!

I never said it before, but I will say it now.. It's an RC abomination (ducking for cover)

I always despised the ORV chassis and then they go and top it off with the lovely Sand Scorcher VW body with an ugly nose cone and enormous tyres and gaudy gold rims.. Sigh there's not enough moonshine in the back woods of Alabama to alter my judgment make me like this thing.

Donning on bullet proof body armour ;)

Mr. T ! Redeem yourself and give us the Chevy Trail Blazer or 959

I spent some time tonight going through the box. I took some pictures of all the parts:

A couple things I noticed:

The front axles are flat black and not shiny chrome.

The Blackfoot body mounts and shock parts are in the box. Here's to a Blackfoot re-release!

The shock springs are pretty soft, and the fronts are considerably shorter than the rears.

Enjoy!

I have to say, you have a lot more patients than I have... You took all those pics? I opened the box and went right to work... Up to building the shocks... Will be up and running by Thursday pm or Friday!!!

Oh, and BTW, the Blackfoot mounts and shocks were included in the original release also, I still have them in my "spare" parts box...

Spare parts box= one of moms old sewing boxes that she gave me...

Yes, still have it for original MB...

Hmmmm.... I wonder if she has another one for this re re MB....

Lol

Yes, it's molded in red, but it's more of a primer red vs a finished red... You may still want to paint it... I'm contemplating it...

I am by no means telling you how to do it, because after all, I've been known to be wrong... Just ask the wife...

She'll be more than happy to tell you...

Lol

Well, I couldn't start building it yet because I don't have the bearings or radio gear, so I figured I could at least unbox it and see what was inside.

I do remember the BF parts being in the original. I was just glad to see that they were still there and that Mr. T hadn't removed them from those trees. Made me hopeful that maybe there was a Blackfoot re-release in the works.

If you look closely at the body, there are some broad swirl lines in the plastic. It would definitely look better with paint, but I think with some rubbing and clear coat, it would look quite good in the stock body color.
