Seriously cool looking! Tamiya could do that it looks more In proportion than the pumpkin does add a good looking colour!, I like it mind you is the cage needed? It's not that wild is it?

I like the look of the old '50's pick up body, but I don't like the short chassis that the pumpkin sits on... I love the aggressiveness look of the MB, obviously...

I do actually need the cage, if people come over, otherwise it just bites the crap out of their ankles!!!! Lol

Anybody else got their re release MB up and running yet??

(Or am I the only freak??)

Mine is up and running too. I took it on break with me and have put around 5 packs through it. So far it's been fantastic. I'm using proline masher tires and an upgraded servo saver. It's just as much fun as it was 30 years ago! I'll be picking up a new battery for it soon and upgrading the esc plug. Has anyone used a lipo with the tble-02s?

I've never bought any tires for either of mine, stupid question, and I haven't done any research as of yet, still got half the nubs to wear down on mine yet, so maybe next week... Lol

How do you know what size tires to get?

Posted

The tires are 2.2" monster truck type. I really like the Masher as an overall tire that works well on lots of surfaces, plus it's just about the same size as the monster beetle pin spikes. They look very natural on there. Im saving the pin spikes that came with the kit for my NOS Beetle build.

I read the 2.2" part somewhere but didn't really mean much to me...

I saved the new gold rims for my vintage MB that I have from '87... One got destroyed and now I have 4 new ones to replace the old w...

The ProLine part number is 1074.

I should have saved my gold rims too, they are already chipping around the edge.

I was surprised to see how soft the stock tires are. I remember the originals ending up hard as rocks.

I spy a future mudblaster project!

That is what I have planned for when i get hold of one of these kits as i liked the Mud Blaster as a kid

I have the body already organised

Ok, one more stupid question... For now... I'm looking at these online, none of the descriptions are telling me how many tires, are they each? Set of two? Set of 4? I'm seeing between $15-$26 in the listings if the price helps...

(Sorry to have to share my ignorance everybody...)

Those are sold in pairs. Hope that helps!

Midnight Pumpkin and Lunchbox wheels and tires interchangeable w the Monster Beetle chassis?

They aren't directly interchangeable. For the rear, yes. For the front, no, since the front wheel carriers or the steering knuckles get in the way.

It is possible to modify Wild Willy 2/Mad Bull front wheels to use with the Monster Beetle by removing some structure of the inner rim. They are designed visually and structurally different than the Lunchbox/Pumpkin wheels, but accept the same tires.

Hello?? (Tap, tap, tap) is this thing on?? Test 1 2, test, test...

Is the newness worn off already?? Does it usually get this quiet around here here here...????

I know I'm new and all, but...

Ok, I'm going back to running my '15 beetle then...

*grumble*

Ever since you guys so excited about the new ReRe MB, prices on Frog/Blackfoot/MB/Brat stuff on EBAY has gone up!

*shakes fist at cloud*

I thought the Blackfoot stuff looked steep but never really paid attention to it too much because I like the MB chassis better...

I've been EBAYing like its hippy crack for the last 10 months, watching for Frog goodies for my Jumper... Prices have always been pretty high, but now they are edging up...

I'm especially watching the Thorp stuff... That stuff has gone up quite a bit!

Once tamiya releases parts they should come down...

The prices on the stuff they make will come down... But the stuff that isn't produced anymore will jump up...

On a more favorable note, all this MB banter has got me interested in getting body mounts so I can adapt my Jumper to a MB if I want!
