Will do. Thanks for the heads up about pre orders. There's always monday if she's not in.

I haven't used fusion to get the tamiya club discount before. Do you have to quote your username or are there other checks to fo through first? Thanks

To get 10% discount you need to be a paying subscriber to TC otherwise you only get 5% discount.

I'd say with 99% certainty that it will come with the exact same transmission components as the re-release Frog and Brat.

Actually, disregard the above comment. I completely forgot that there were upgrade driveshaft parts for the Frog so, yes, from the description it sounds like the MB will come with the 53908 shaft set as standard.

Tamiya make a sono and dance about 'bonus parts' (note the plural) being included with other re-releases such as the Stadium Blitzer and all it turns out to be is a second pinion gear.....which means there's two to bin instead of just one!!

Hilarious!

The specifications say "NEW PARTS: Rear universal drive shafts transfer power smoothly, and come with rubber boots to protect outdrives from dust." I wonder if that means the kit is coming with these - https://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=53908

Hmmm. I put those in my Frog rere and had no end of them ejecting from the out drive cups. The trailing arm set has far too much "distance" change for a non capitulated single sided slip joint :( Possibly that is why it looks to be sitting lower in the photos :( (to limit the "out pull" on the dog bone end at full droop).

Oh well, if this is the case, I'll be inserting Bushdevil front and rear ends on and keeping the ORV gearbox and narrow front end for spares for my Blackfoot.

What are you guys doing to your ORV's? I've had an original Blackfoot for nearly 30 years and the only issue I've ever had with the drive shafts is when I landed it hard at the skate park and the trailing arm popped out of the gearbox which meant it lost drive.

Just popped it back in and carried on...

Must admit the photographer is getting better when he/she/them are doing the promo shots for tamiya's re-re's the early one's eg (super hotshot & sand scorcher) are terrible probably did nothing to help sell them to newbies!

Very happy it looks like the original, I was half expecting it to be a Blackfoot 3 chassis.

I am going to purchase at least three of these kits.

I really love the box art with the MB...

I've been wondering whether to run this kit or have it purely for display. I'm leaning towards the latter. I was so desperate to get a monster beetle when I got back into the scene last year that I bought a mud blaster 2, kamtec sandscorcher body which was then sprayed red and fitted with the monster beetle decals.

I was so disappointed they didn't still sell them. My wt01monster beetle is near indestructible and I can bash it without any regrets. So display model it is. :)

Good choice! The ORV-based Monster Beetle might be iconic, historic, etc, but as a runner the WT-01 is far better in terms of ruggedness, stability and ability to handle power.

It seems like this release has brought the ebay sellers out of hiding. There's probably about a dozen used beetles up there now, and 2 or 3 NIB kits. I haven't seen that many for sale in a long while! It doesn't seem to have affected the price on spares yet though. $125 for A-parts? Yikes!

I'm glad to see that now there will be a glut of rear skid plate/bumpers for MBs... I want one for my Frog, but I'm not paying the NIB Vintage price!

It looks like it's got the old wheel attachments too. I love fact all the MB parts will become available again. I'd really like a set of these gold wheels for my WT01 monster beetle I've got. Is there an adapter that will let me use these wheels with the old fitment on a wt01 that has the 12mm hex?

I have an original new built, all custom and also have an original NIB.

I'm going to buy a re re to keep NIB.

I'm hoping they release an XB (RTR) soon after so I can put it up on the shelf with my new built, finished to Tamiya standards from the factory would be nice.

Yes, made by TeamCRP.
