Vintage Tamiya: Stars of Stage and Screen?

Recommended Posts

Funny story - I didn't get a chance to watch Avengers: Age of Ultron in the theater. Had to wait FOREVER till it came out digitally (today). Luckily it still came with special features, and while watching them lo and behold, a little friend! HEY, I KNOW YOU !!

Anyone else know of any choice Tamiya cameos? I know of the epic Punky Brewster one... but there must be others. :D

Oh, wow! :o

I figure someone in the film crew is probably a Tamiya-head. R/C, scale-modelling and special-effects-filled movies have always been connected. I think I recall one TC'er who works with props etc for films. Don't recall who - but I wouldn't be surprised if there were several!

I dunno Ben, but I'm totally beside myself with the fact someone would identify a Tamiya car sitting so far in the background when watching a movie like this somewhere!

By the way, it's good to have you back here in TC! :)

Thanks man! Glad to be back, at least my pinkie toe. ;) Still don't have time to actually work on projects... but WHERE ELSE could I possibly go to tell people how I was excited to see a QD Thunder Dragon in a movie?? Only you people would understand...

You're all missing the point. I think we should be judging the fact that a group of grown men (albeit dressed up like laydeez) are walking past an RC car and paying it no attention.

I saw the Brimingham Royal Ballet do the Nutcracker last Christmas. They had huge radio control rats on stage, I was dying to go back stage and find out what they were based on.

And what about the video of the Queen?

You can see a model in the shelf, it seems a Boomerang.
