I'm wondering [:I] if any decal/sticker that is supplied by Tamiya in their modern buggy kits is authentic? I mean, I have never seen a firm like RL = Racing Lights or BL = Bright Light, Forward, Exact Forged Pistons, Free Flow Filters. JX-75, Advanced, etc. etc.

I guess that Tamiya does not want to use original sponsor's stickers in order to avoid license fees, is that right? But what about *** Cepec? This company exists I think, but I found a sticker of it in my Baja King kit, a car issued recently? Any help greatly appreciated.

Older buggies also had 'KC Daylighters', which I think DO exist for real? You could be right on the licencing issue... But on the contrary, most touring cars have real sponsors - on my Ferrari 360 for example Lear, Pirreli, Shell, BBS Magneti Marelli and few more. [:)]

*** Cepec also appeared on the BigWig and the TXT-1 - I too wonder who or what it really is? [?]

yea most older tamiyas have real companies on them, like monroe (shock obsorbers i think?) and bf goodrich.

licencing issues are something tamiya are carefull of these days i think. remember the clod buster and the chevy badge rubbish [:)]

what about "white lightning inc" on the clod, is that a company?

Tamiya got their fingers burnt in the mid nineties with the F1 cars, they had to withdraw a lot of cars from the market and sell them on the quiet after being hit for royalties by a well known Grand Prix Team!

It's why the Ferrari costs loads more than a "generic" F1 kit.

all the sponsor decals on the SRB's are genuine as far as i know, ive got an 'auto haus' decal on the filler cap on my 1:1 car, its about 10 times bigger than the ss decal.

you can get hold of a lot of decals about as big as your hand at vw shows, a lot of them are the same as them on tamiya cars.

go to http://www.desertdust.homestead.com and select from the menu at the side, you'll see on the cars a lot of familiar decals.

KC Daylighters are genuine, and I think some of the others on the older cars too (I'm sure I've seen Monroe shock decals and some Castrol ones)?, but I think that the newer ones seem to have more generic ones to stay on the safe side.
