Short version:

Anyone know what the Tamiya Acrylic paint code is to match PS-12 silver?

Long version:

In a rare fit of "ooh that looks nice", I decided to paint my R33 Skyline in boxart colours. That is, PS-12 silver. Of course, the spoiler and mirrors come in silver but need painting for that proper shelf-ready look.

Problem is, I've somehow managed to lose the body instruction sheet and I can't find it online, and now I can't remember the paint code for the spoiler. I see there is an X-11 Chrome Silver and an X-32 Titanium Silver - I'm guessing it should be Titanium?

Also - has anyone successfully decalled the R33 spoiler? Memory tells me the body manual states to use the one of the two carbon-effect decals on the wing, but I can't get my head around how they're supposed to fit. If I could find the manual I'd point out where I think it won't work, but naturally, I've lost it

Thanks :)

hmm, that's come out OK. I usually find the PS paints have a matt finish (like the inside of a body shell, oddly enough :D )

Did you use a primer? I've used PS paints to paint wheels without primer but not used it on ABS before.

Thanks for the input guys, I will give this a go. Fairly flat piece of plastic so easily to knock back if I screw it up :D

I always prime. I learned the hard way long ago that the paint just doesn't stick without a good primer.

Ain't it odd tho that PS paint will stick perfectly well to the inside of a polycarb shell. Sticks well to Tamiya wheels too, in my experience - although the finish isn't perfect.

Thanks for the advice all, Tamiya fine primer arrived today so maybe I can get this car finished.
