So a while ago I restored a blackfoot. It is one of my 2 shelfers and sits on my dresser in my bedroom, much to my wifes displeasure. I also have a blackfoot lid on my brat and lately I have been getting annoyed at the lack of interior. I was thinking about making a dash for it. I think it can be done easily and rather cheaply considering the size of the dash and the materials I would use. Is anyone making this already? By already I mean a GOOD one. The 1980-1986 F-series dashes are pretty geometric but cool looking. I have an '87 but at least I can get some critical dimensions for it.

What are your thoughts? I might need motivation for this. Answer carefully, a dash for the BF means requests for a dash for the KBF which will be a nightmare and I probably wont do it.

While I would not touch or modify such classic truck myself, I do believe a dash would be very nice, and I'm sure the guys customizing the classic Ford Ranger body around the world would be interested.

And now that I think of it, I believe the Blackfoot has space enough to do a whole interior and not just the dash. Good luck with the dash project, and don't forget to share pictures of the finished product when ready! :)

Yes you are correct, in Blackfoot form, the truck can have a complete interior. I think if i make door panels, seat backs and a dash, they can be installed with some polystyrene to make a very nice interior. I wish I could 3d print the thing as a whole but I suspect it could be something like $100. Ill give it a go as soon as I finish a couple other cars. Thanks for the feedback!

A multi-piece interior would perfectly do. But I am not familiar with the 3d print prices, so I have no clue.

I guess it is indeed a good idea, because this Tamiya Ford Ranger body must be one of the best ones ever made.

Have a good one! :)

The issue I see is the smoke front and rear windows on the Blackfoot won't show the interior as well as the windows found on the SRB XLT.

One-piece lexan windows might be the answer! :D

Yeah, that would be nice to get some of those made. The windows are super dark

Agreed, it is a great one. With the kind of 3D printing I would use on the interior, it would be a volume cost of the material. I would be much cheaper to piece it together using inexpenive styrene. Its a thought anyway.

This Tamiya Ford F150 (Ranger SRB or Blackfoot) interior has been a long time coming. All the parts are in from shapeways and now the painting, detailing and electrical installation begins! There should be a Youtube video up in a week or so.

Haha, well this one is for my F150 on my Brat chassis but I have one in maroon for my yellow blackfoot. I have leftovers for project mudblaster.

Oh my gawd. Thats amazing.

I've just realised I saw your post of these pictures on Facebook just recently.

Incredible stuff!

Thanks Chris. I am waiting on one bracket and ill have my installation video up. I wish I could post a build on TC but I guess anytime you use a computer it is not allowed. I am moving most of this to another site.
