Thats a good deal. The PS4 prices are coming down now as well. I think at Smyths toy store are doing it with fifa 2016 £289 and tesco have it bundled with GTA5 for the same price.

I think I'll hold out until the new year there are always some bargains to be had after christmas.

The thing I don't like about the xbox is nothing to do with the actual machine but the company microsoft. If you remember when they released it they said you can't share, sell your games. Basically that when you buy a game you are the sole owner. They went a bit 'apple'. It was only anger from xbox fans and the fact that the ps4 gave you freedom to do with your games whatever you choose that microsoft backed down.

Sony has my loyalty now even though I've got an xbox 360.

But which is best? There's only one way to find out! FIGHT!!!

Yeah, thankfully, that sharing thing was dropped before the One was released otherwise I doubt it'd even exist now.

The only problem I have with the PS4 is down to a dodgy choice I made about 15 years ago - The wife doesn't like the aesthetics of the console

That and you can't play Titanfall on it.

I have both consoles and find myself playing the Xbox more due to the exclusives available for it. The PS4 is the better console overall performance wise but the differences do not affect the gameplay at all. PS4 has some good titles but until uncharted 4 lands I will be playing Halo, gears and forza.

My wife bought me a xbox one for my bday/Christmas and it really is an amazing system. I'm not a huge 'gamer' but usually play madden and battlefield 4 on it. The coolest thing about it is being able to stream your game onto a computer in another room while the wife watches tv.

That streaming ability is pretty cool. I think exclusives are really what sell a console. I've gone ps1, ps2, xbox 360 and now??? I really liked the god of war series years back and was gutted sony got the rights to it.

Have to admit the latest halo looks amazing. I'm not a huge gamer but do like to have a current console and that time is coming.

You what?

Up until I sold the last one I was waiting until the TV was free

How does that work then?

About three years ago I bought a backward compatible PS3, within a month I cooked it, fortunately under warranty under warranty as it was a used machine, it's still going strong but the kids took it over and wife bought me a Ps4 for an early birthday Christmas gift last year, I'm pleased with the system but see no real difference worth talking about, it's an all round entertainment machine in our house, Netflix, Vudu, dvd and blu Ray. I play my games maybe once or twice a week to have a break from the work bench... Kinda feel guilty telling my kids to ease up on the gaming when after they go to bed I become a game zombie. Lol.

Feel old, still toying around with an original xbox. :-)

Pfft... ...the only console that occasional powers up in my home is my beloved Dreamcast! (And sometimes maybe the NES or the Super NES)

In 3 years that thing is 20 years old, so you maybe could call it vintage :D, but every now and then some games pop up and i get new stuff to play.

In fact 2015 was THE year of the Dreamcast, we did get some nice games to play and Shenmue 3 was announced to be released in 2017 on PS4.

I love my Dreamcast..... ....its still thinking!

There is one stipulation to the streaming...you need to have Windows 10 installed on the computer (and a decent router). Basically, Win10 comes with an 'XBox' app, you click 'stream' under the app and then everything that appears on your xbox streams to the computer...it basically mirrors the signal to your TV.

It's great when my wife wants to watch a show on regular TV, I can just go to my man cave with the tablet and a controller and play a game.

I've just remembered. I powered on the xbox 360 the other day which is a rarity at the moment and I was looking through the settings etc and that does the streaming to a microsoft pc too. I'll have to look into that more.

It is rarely used even though it's hooked up to a projector which projects onto a 72 inch projector screen with cinema surround sound all over the room. Games really do come alive. I'm starting to think why don't I use it much now. What set ups do others have for their consoles?

I tend to play games on pc at the moment. I'm a bit addicted to one on line game called vega conflict. It's also a game on android and ios. Anyone played it?

Just seen an advert for another ps4 deal at argos. Ps4 with uncharted, assissins creed and watch dogs for £299.99 plus £20 of free vouchers B)

I don't believe the 360 can stream games. I do know it is smart glass compatible and can stream music, movies and pictures to/from Windows computers with Media Center.

I just had a look at the connect to a computers setting. It said watch and record tv and listen to music with windows media centre. No mention of games. Like I said I don't really use it but noticed the connect to a computer in settings. Looks like games aren't on the menu.

Well, I can now play Titanfall away from the TV - Cheers Steelo :)

The Xbox doesn't work well with our TV (TV can't handle the signal from most HDMI sources and can't take pic and sound from XBox) so being able to play it on another screen is great!

It sounds like you figured it out, glad you found a solution to your TV :)

Also, check out Smartglass...it should be on your computer if you have Windows 10, if not it's a free download. It doesn't 'mirror' the screen but is a really neat companion and gives you information that can't be displayed on the screen while you play a game. I use it all of the time playing Madden 16, it gives me stats and the offensive/defensive tendencies of the teams I'm playing to help me choose plays. I have Titanfall too, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet, so not sure how it works with it..of course, you would need another computer running if you're already mirroring the screen.

I really enjoyed the beta, sounds and atmosphere of the films have been captured perfectly.

Which other games are you going to get for your PS4?

Grabbed the Uncharted collection, Metal Gear 5 as well when I ordered the Star Wars console and Battlefront, haven't played them.

I've just finished Dying Light, Far Cry 4, Mad Max and Battlefield Hardline, all were great fun !

I think Far Cry 4 was my favourite :).

Far cry was a great game, my next big one is fallout 4, that will keep me going for a while. Battlefront will have to wait till Christmas and dying light is one I want to try, I have read mixed reviews of mad max is it worth a try?
