It's just a free download from emachineshop.com.

It's ok for small simple parts.

I'm yet to find a good FREE 2d to 3D program. Any help guys?

I went to my kids school open day and got chatting to their craft design guy since they were using a 3d printer, he recommended me 'Sketch up make' for 3d design which is a free download. Haven't tried it yet.

I had a play this morning with the body shell, I have cut the front lip off and moved it up 8-9mm so it's now level with the rest of the body, I also made this look like it has a bolt on lip and have not smoothed the joint.

Next up was to fill in the sun roof, body holes and removal off the bonnet pins and antenna base. I also opened up both side vents.

Finally I have added a scale rear bumper centre section which I will infill with mesh later.

Next will be to fill and smooth the body and delete the body lines.

Will update when I have time.

James.

Hi guys,

I have had a quote back from the machine shop, I can get all 3 chassis plates and the 2 spacers cut in 3mm carbon fibre with countersinks for £79.99 each which I think is very good value.

Let me know if you would like a set please ASAP as I can get a bulk order in. Should take 1-2 weeks.

Thanks

James.

How's progress on this build, love the look of it with those white deep dish wheels..... I must look for some different wheels for mine to jazz it up!

Hey, I have not really got back round to this yet, I git the chassis finished and had a play around with the settings and got it to work very well indeed.

I just need need to get round to finishing the body.

That is an excellent idea regarding the front lip of the shell. The modification still looks good while improving function. I had a problem with the car slamming down on its front bumper after wheelies on friction dampers; short of replacing them with oil units this looks to be a promising solution.

Oh, and the chassis is fantastic, too ;)

Did you ever get any chassis plates made? I would like to do this also.  I would also like to put the lunch box body on a car chassis some day.  Your idea of making a new center section for that chassis is a good idea.  Any chance you would send me the cad files and I could get a set cut out myself since it looks like you are not in the same country as me?  Also a good cad program is autocad and you can sign up for a student account and get just about any of there full versions free for 3 years.

I did get them made by a company in the uk. I made up a set of plastic patern plates and sent them to him in the end. He then made me a set up so no cad drawings I'm afraid.
