Hello,

i have a question about the lrp runner plus reverse.

This ESC has a automatic setup.

My Blazing Star is equipped with this ESC & a super stock bz motor.

The forward and brake functions are okay, but the reverse function is not right.

When I hit the reverse fully the car does nothing.

If I pull the reverse just a little bit (a few millimeters) the car goes in the reverse direction.

But if I pull the reverse fully the car does nothing and seems to go into the brake function.....

Is the ESC faulty?

What can I do? Any tipps?

If your radio has adjustable endpoints, you could try reducing the reverse travel. Some auto-calibrating ESCs get a bit confused if the travel is greater than they expect.

Sadly that's not possible with the transmitter I am using on this model, but mabe I'll change the radioset on that model...

I thought the voltage of lipos, Nimhs & NiCds are the same (7,2v).

Good thing that I don't own lipos!

But anyways, thanks a lot for that tipp!

Yea a fully charged lipo is 8.4v max, whilst some ESCs can take the extra load through either tolerance or whatnot, this esc just exploded rather spectacularly instead! Luckily no damage to the chassis as it shot off into a hedge!

Ive had great success using the oldest speedo's and the newer, mostly NIB esc's with lots of blister pack motors,  with lipos, never had an issue, but one i bought was f'ed up somehow from the get go. cant remember and dont care at this point, problem solved, then one of these will power the df03MS friend car, , read free y and i have cash, and the car radio, battery, we considered three alternatives ansmann mad monkey, just to have a 2wd option, THEN I would use this esc with a tamiya satick pack shape batteries cause most cars here are tamiyas. Use the ai reverse sportThen we considered sprucing up the lazer rtr with a brushless option, wait i think som **** esc . But he liked the sleek narrow shape, like buggy most are  says he, never seen many of them even here, but in the mad monkey's looks i he liked the looks most, but we decided on a 4wd and he told me to keep it for him between we run together, and i know were goin too, but , he is an alcholic, but should get to do rear minded speed feeling from the car and , he needs  is my most honest friend, i look forward to spring, us two we drive together with him here and weater dries up my almost exclusively 4wd fleet is reduced to two cars i bring with me, BOTH evo's=) One futaba mc800c insane speed buggy ESC, I NEVER HAD IT GO OVER 110-120F with one of the 9-12turn x4 generation motors. Wonder what  But at lest managed to to keep ''the monkey brushless'', it cogged so bad, and i could get another car just like it for the price of replacing a similarly cheap  combo, either esc, motor, or both, ends up with loss any way you calculator works again. Wonder which out of quantum pro(seems older in  and quantum 2 pluss reverse bullet They are much better than the older smaller lrp esc's for brushed motors.

I think both are 7- turn limit on both, checked both nib cardboard boxes, both 7turn. But Im go turns on the quantum 2 runner and i will run a light setup o nothing bc he wants learn as much as he could, and if he lay off both alcohol, 12 beers daily, except , both our cars will be different, my  with superstock bz which i tried the combo in the mad monkey 2wd buggy didnt get hottrea lot in the blazing sun.

But the topic at hand, the ai runner plus reverse worked flawlessly  no high temps in the mad monkey too. i May let him drive my new one with an easy to upgrade , just as cool (bad ***) as the db01RR(R), in the same league with it built to be most possible like 501x upgrades that fit, and the db01RRR is kept stock-ish, with only fibrelyte towers which look epic on my parts made db01 baldre, has all you could want. Even alloy wing mount in blue LOL=)  Cars with more upgrades than the rest of the car just seems weak.......but great buy when a clueless person put 501x steering mounted so akwardly i quickly also found 501x only upgrades in the parts bag i collected before buying the db01 durga, so now both the baldre and my 501x has full alloy steering, and the nr 1 EVO with just changed speedo to a novak tempest III speedo just to test how it feels to drive with all the power for å my motor that big orange box can dish out........5 turn limit for the futaba and its punch and speed is amazing, two sugarcubes, of esc, thats almost no limit imo. It has a 9-11 turn of the X4 generation dark blue LRP motors9-10turns, with 16t pinion, 11-12 turns motor, with one notch up to the 17teeth pinion. In my other i will run the motors until dead on the asphalt dust of magnetic death, its magnetic, how to get off? maybe with the even bigger one magnet? Igot a new 12 turn such dark blue motor yesterday, will have lots of fun in the spring. Perhaps in my baldre or my RRR and turn up the gearing two teeth. Maybe it will overheat or go like a bombed plane right forward into the mountains. Ifeel i can push them both 2teeth, minmum........

 

Sorry for long and probly old thread revived, but i want to know which is stronger than the quantum pro quantum2 sort bullet? with a 12turn minimum, basically it will live at  i guess the bullet.... But if opposite i mght go runner just for the better looks. And the wires are pre cut and soldered right out of an EVO. That futaba is **** cool too, and its made for soldering new wires as needed.Ihave two more, and the GM 2x SX9, SX12. Those are my smallest esc's that work, lol
