I had a silver porche version of this as a kid. It would run forward in a straight line when you turned it on and the "remote" had a metal plate in it that clicked when you pulled the trigger causing the car to shift into reverse (when it turned in one direction). Any loud noise would work though since I resorted to clapping when my clicker broke.
