I've been toying with the idea of building a pulling truck.

Having wanted a playskool orange Blossom as a kid and having a new Parma 34 pick up shell sat in the loft, along with a hornet with troll tyres,I am thinking this should build itself!

Not sure, with it being this close to Christmas, that the updates will be regular, but here goes.

For those not familiar, this is the 80's pulling truck

An 1/18 muscle machine has donated the engine

Managed to pick up a set of aluminum hornet wheel sections.

So far it isn't as much a build,as a collection of a few bits.

You sure that engine is 1:18 and not 1:8, Tony?

Defo 1:18, the muscle machines are caricature models.

I don't know what's happened,but,it looks like I made progress!

Took it into work last night, normally that's the kiss of death and I don't even get a break!

The plan was to get on the milling machine and make some bits, but,as a job was already set up in it, I had to opt for the 2nd option,an angle grinder!!

Dug out some key steel

Attacked it with the technical equipment

Actually turned out no too bad!

Found some small conveyor chain guide

Which turned out to be a near perfect size!

Needs a fettle, some tie bars to stop flex etc, but no bad!

Are you going to make those bigger for the project, or are you going to use the small logos in that 1/10 OBS?

I think someone in Greece is making these, maybe if you ask for bigger ones? I'll try to find the link.

I've seen the expensive ones from Greece.

I'm going for the enlargement option, the wife does craft stuff with cards etc and has a 'zing' cutter, so may use that.

I was kind of hoping to have a load of pics and updates done by now, but, with the printer running out of ink and then finding my creditcard has been cloned, meaning no ebay purchases (maybe not a bad thing!?!),things have been slow.

I have managed to now scan, enlarge and print out onto A4 (once I can purchase again, printable decals on order),then the age old - paint body then cut out or visa versa.

Anyway,don't look too bad!

Had a bit of trouble with the chevy badge sticking to the Ford body, but after explaining that chevys are now a common upgrade in fords it stuck no problem! :)

I'm excited. The truck is looking fantastic. What a great project!

Thanks Erich,I was hoping to have it finished by now,but with Christmas, work and then ended up buying another house,so been a bit hectic and will be until I move next month.I can see it being a while before its completed (no doubt have to find it in one of the many boxes after the move!),I'll do my best though. :)
