I'm in the middle of a High Lift Hilux build, been really enjoyable so far.

My question is; can you use the junfac front steering kit, with the stock suspension?

I thought I read somewhere that you cannot, and you need the 4 link kit as well. But for the life of me I cannot find where I saw that now,

Only asking as I am at the point in the build where I'll be setting up that area.

Thanks.

Hi

I fitted the junfac steering kit with standard suspension, it does work but there isn't really enough clearance and the servo touched the gear change linkage when the suspension was compressed. I have now mounted the steering servo to the chassis but kept the junfac linkages. This set up is far better and looks more scale.

Okay cool, thanks for the response.

I want to keep the leaf setup, but wanted the steering kit to get rid of the slop I read about.

I'm also doing the tranny lift/motor drop, so hopefully that doesn't get in the way.

I'll continue with my build now and put it in.

Thanks again!

Please post pics and share what you think of the tranny lift/motor drop. I had lifted the entire assembly by using the upper chassis holes in my tundra. I ended up breaking one of my Junfac prop shafts-I assume it was over extended), and have since returned to the standard shafts without any issues.

How'd you do that? Can you post some pics?

Hi

I hope it's clear from the pics,I made some servo mountining brackets from 10x10mm steel bar.  I think I made them to locate in existing holes in the chassis rails but it was a couple of years ago now so can't quite remember. It's loads better than the standard steering.
