Hornet for sale

Time to clear out the projects I will never get around to finishing.

This was my first Tamiya car and is responsible for all that followed. Unfortunately it just is not for me.

What is for sale is the car as shown and the other parts in the pictures. It is a rere car.

The shell is badly painted but not bad for a runner.

Brand new purple D spur is included because one of the shock mounts is starting to split.

The front arms are also new. The rest of the bits are unknown as they came with other bits or my memory fails me.

Decals are new

The motor included is to keep the dust out the gearbox, no idea if it runs. I will throw in a silvercan if you want one

I have a set of nice LB wheels and NIP tyres I could add as extra if you wanted to monster it.

£45 plus postage at cost

No one likes Hornets or the price is to high?

Feel free to make a sensible offer before I put this in the loft forever

I love buying RC's but hate selling as they don't hold much value generally which is why I have a load of semi redundant runners.

Selling has always been a PITA for me relative to the amount it sells for that it's hardly worth the grief. Suggestion; Monster it and enjoy, or do something completely random with it like spray the entire chassis a different colour and get creative with it, things you wouldn't normally try on an RC for fear of messing it up and enjoy the process and hopefully how it turns out!

Alternatively, the decal sheet has to be worth a tenner on its own, sell that seperately and try the Hornet at £35!

I agree. I am only selling to make space, the money is largely irrelevant.

If it does not sell I will stick it in the loft until I find a use for it or someone with a small child wants to get them in to the hobby.

I have just stuck my Holiday Buggy re-re in the loft for that reason. I broke it at RHR and thought about fixing it to sell it and realised its worth so little I might as well shove it in a box at the back of the loft and "rediscover it" at some point in the future lol

Hi nobbi. I think everyone loves a hornet. It may be due to a few things why it isn't selling. With people still recovering from christmas and having spent more than usual that could be one reason. Also when some companies do really cheap deals on hornets it doesn't help the second hand market. I won't mention where or for how much.

On the plus side the second hand parts I've seen do reach quite good prices. For example I've seen sets of wheels go for £30. I've recently built a hornet from second hand parts from ebay to finish off a chassis with gearbox I was given with an ebay purchase (I bought a hornet and they threw them in as a bonus, nice surprise). When finding parts for it I found that if I bought all the second hand parts individually it could be as dear as a new one. This is were you could benefit though by breaking it down and selling individually. I know that can be a bit of a drag though.

I think it's a good plan sticking it in the loft. You may grow to like it again in years to come. It still early days yet though so don't give up too soon someone may still buy it.

If exchange and postage don't kill me SWMBO will.

I can send it in 20 boxes so you can claim to be just buying parts!
