the nissan joke has nothing on the early ssangyong actyon utes/suvs/pickups.....

oh yeah forgot about that car company (probably not a bad thing) didn't they make that 2 door Jeep looking thing?

I have no clue if they did, and if they did it would still be stupendously ugly to me, coz as far as I'm concerned, they make super mega fugly cars....

Is it just me but is tamiya being more secretive than usual over this re-re Blackfoot? Over the many years we've been having the re-releases (and I for one like the re-re's kyosho's aswell!) Its been a case of the announcement then a week or two later an official photo!, but nothing at Nuremberg the Blackfoot was accidentally announced normally there is always a surprise at Nuremberg? Hopefully then it's going to have the wow factor because it's a bit strange the monster beetle was released first as it was the all bells and whistles one out of the two?

I'm guess the Monster Beetle coming first is the same case with the Buggy Champ. The Rough Rider/Buggy Champ was less popular than the Sand Scorcher so it came out first. People bought it not knowing at first if the SS would come in the future. As far as we knew at the time the BC might have been our only shot at a re-re SRB. When the SS did come, BC sales tapered off. The Blackfoot ( despite not having all the options) was far more popular than the Monster Beetle. Hence, like the BC/SS, Monster Beetle first, then Blackfoot. I totally agree, Tamiya seems very secretive about the Blackfoot for some reason though...

News just in, Lawyers are threatening a lawsuit against Tamiya at the proposed re release of it's Blackfoot radio controlled model car. Suggestions have been made as alternatives, some of which are as follows: The Oppositeofwhitefoot, The Middleofthenightcolouredfoot, And The Darklycolouredfoot.

Tamiya's lawyers are in discussions with the lawyers behind closed doors, and Tamiya executives are hoping they can come to a peaceful resolution and allow the original name to be used on the truck. We will be bringing you constant updates as news comes to hand on the procedings.

This is Jane Valderama in Tokyo for ZNN news.

I don't think there is any particular secrecy going on surrounding the Blackfoot as, let's face it, we weren't even supposed to know it was coming. What is strange is the fact that we are heading into the final week of April and there has barely been a hint of any new releases to be presented at Shizuoka. I would like to think it is because they are gearing up for some big announcements but it's probably them just being their usual random selves, lol.

Mind you, if the Blackfoot does not get announced this month then maybe they are hastily reworking that body. :)

I haven't waited years to start saying that, I started saying that when they first started to appear on NZ roads *lmao*

Yeah to me it's the Holiday Buggy 2010 of the Tamiya world, but lot's of people buy that too, so if it sells then... I dunno love is blind?

So apart from a photoshopped undercover pic with 'blackfoot 2016' and tamiyblog having a kit number, is there any other confirmation this is a go ahead? ( <- not read all of thread).

thing is my best friends wife has one with a 1.2cc (my monster beetle with its 17turn is more powerful than that) engine!, had it six months sprayed de-icer on the windscreen one frosty morning and didn't wipe off the excess and it took all the lacquer off the paint!

now ugly tamiya's that's a topic for discussion on its own (probably already been done) but I'm going for the thunder shot because I had one after my hotshot back in the day!, I bought it because it looked all in proportion wright size wheels body etc on the box! But when I built it I was less impressed wheels looked too small body looked to thin and when I did my first race and watched it go around the track with optima turbo's and rc10's (back then in my club anyway 2wd did race with 4wd!) It just looked naff and all wrong!

thread officially hi-jacked now me thinks *lol* for me, if it wasn't a bear hawk or a manta ray, I wasn't interested, I can appreciate a well built or well presented buggy from any brand, but still remains bear hawk and manta ray are my favourite buggies ^_^

as for the blackfoot, I haven't heard nothing relating to a release date, but then I don't really track the releases, I let you guys do that for me, and if I find something interesting I'll go grab a kit :D

So finally, this release has been confirmed.

No mention of the Ford F150 moniker though. Simply "Blackfoot 2016". Bah.

It's the start of the Hobby Show tomorrow and there hasn't even been a peek of what this thing might look like. Will it even be there tomorrow? Seems like after the leak in January they are being deliberately evasive about this release.

Same here - been waiting for news of this (and other re-releases) for ages and it seems like they're teasing us with the total information black-out.  They could be planning some really special super-secret announcement, or it could be there is just no news to report and the re-re train has finally set sail.
