Who is familiar with the Tomo cars?

It turns out I've bought a Tomo car recently.

I wonder if someone has some info about these cars, as I can't find a lot on the net.

For instance, are these cars rare?

I know a bit about Tomo. The "Lupus" was the pinnacle of their buggy development and many companies offered aftermarket parts for the Lupus too and it dominated in 1/8 buggy racing for a couple of years untill 4WD buggies got seriously competitive.

Tomo also had a pretty cool (VW Beetle) Baja Bug dubbed the "Beetle Topless".

As Tomo was a pretty popular brand for some years, I don't think Tomo cars can be considered especially rare. At least not in used and worn condition. Worth considering is that mostly metal were used in this model and as long as the parts aren't bent, broken og seriously, they can mostly be very successfully restored. That's harder with "modern" day plastic parts. If your ask about how rare it is because you intend to sell, I believe it won't be easy to achieve a high price for a used/worn Tomo, simply because relatively few people collect Tomo (compared to for insance Tamiya and Kyosho) and though the supply is small too, I reckon the little demand will make it difficult to find someone ready to pay a lot for it.

If your model is new/unbuilt/partially built and was never run, it will be "rare" because of the condition and probably fetch a considerably higher price.

Would be interesting to know what model it is and a bit about the condition. That said, I'm not a potential buyer, so my previous comments aren't an intention to have the price reduced! :-)

I do not have the intention to sell it though

I think I have the Lupus or the Funco. The car is complete but needs a good cleaning.

It came with a BMW 320i body, don't know anything about that.
