widening the rear end of a Ta06

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to fit a Ta06 with a hot rod body but the wheels and or tyres aren't filling the rear end so if I put dark wheels on it it looks like there is no chassis under it.... any thoughts

You will have to play with high offset wheels, and/or wider hexes and as a last resort TG10 axles. I would look at HPI's etc offerings.

Stick a ruler against the outside of your current touring car wheels (assuming you know the offset, usually 0 to +2) and have a look at what is available in the extra offset you need.

There are alot of nice chrome wheel sets (pefect for a hotrod) on ebay atm, some as much as +6mm and +8mm offset, thats per side, so a possible 12-16mm extra width overall. If you need any more than thats your better off changing to a 200mm width chassis to start with instead of a 185mm one.
