Hi I have looked up on here but the posts are old so I would like to know what electric motors are people putting in there tractor trucks now days as the stock motor is ridiculously too fast what I want is to use my truck in my house so slow + torque and can use with mfc-03. I'm after a full bearing kit for a MB Actros 6x4 where would I get these,EBay sell them for £15 are these any good so where do you buy your kit from many thanks b

Tamiya do a Hop-Up motor for the 1/14 trucks - part number 56526 - I think this is the only alternative motor choice Tamiya recommend to use with the MFU.

Bearings from ebay are fine - sounds about the right price for a set.

I've bought lots of bearings from ebay and never had any problems with them.

Given that ball bearings are so cheap these days I think Tamiya should include them with all kits as standard anyway.

MB Actros 6x4 - cool kit, very nice B)

quick research shows the mfc-03 has a caution to use motors from the kit or the truck hopup's range, personally, so long as the brushed motor you get for it has a higher turn count than the stock silver can you should be fine. If you have the cash to spare, and want to be sure, then get the tamiya one that Tamiyabigstuff gave the part number to.

bearings are bearings, and any bearing is better than the nylon bushes in the kits, just 1 thing about bearings, the cost is directly related to the quality. I use rubber sealed avid race bearings in my tamiya kits, for the kits like the blitzers, LB, and MP, it costs about $20 nzd, for the hilux high lift I'm paying off, full bearing kit ran me for about $90 nzd. I really like their free wheel spin time on the front wheels of my LB and blitzer, they just free spin for ages and for a competition spec'd bearing, they are really well priced at $2 nzd each (about 0.80p).

If I was to pick up one of the truck kits, I'd prolly fork out the extra cash for avid or xray ceramic bearings, seeing that I wouldn't have the worry of dirt getting into them being on road vehicles.
