Hi all,

I recently purchased a Hobbyking ‘x-car’ 45A ESC for my car and seem to be having some intermittent issues with it. Right now, it’s running a brand new 27T Axial brushed motor - Once in a while, the motor will not move unless I give it full throttle and will completely stop if it's not always at 100% throttle. When it does stop, the car will be unresponsive until you give it max throttle again. The ESC was programmed as soon as I installed it.

When this happens I’ll usually turn the ESC power off and then on and that seems to correct the issue. I’ve powered it with both 2s lipo’s and nimhs and I think it mainly happens with nimh’s.

Not a huge deal and I don’t expect wonders with a $10 ESC, just kind of annoying…any ideas?

Thanks,

Jason

Have exactly the same symptoms. Tried dialling back the EPA on the transmitter, seemingly made no difference, still cuts out after an unpredictable amount of time. Mine resides on the shelf, but like you I wasn't expecting much for my money - just rather hoped it would actually work! I am also running a 27T silver can motor in a stock TT01 with stock gearing - so it's not an issue with that!

Interesting….One day, I couldn’t get it to work at all with a fully charged nimh battery. I wonder if the low voltage cut-off has anything to do with it.

With a lipo battery, if I turn it off then on again, it seems to work fine. Also, it seems to happen much more frequently if I turn on the ESC before the transmitter…
