"With the Shizuoka 2016 show getting closer, expect information on new releases shortly."

"Having been rumored for some time, RC Monkey now appears to confirm that the debut for the TA07 PRO will indeed be at the Shizuoka Hobby Show."

Stop and think about the radical differences between TA03, TA04, TA05, and TA06 -- it'll be very interesting to see what Tamiya releases as a TA07. Maybe some features will trickle down from the TRF419/TRF419X?

I m excited !!!

hope it s something spectacular, the ta06 was awesome not the most efficient design but singular to say the least. Would love to see them bring back ssg carbon !

Yep, keen to see it. Rumours are that it is a cheaper twin deck car that you can upgrade with trf parts. As long as it's not over complicated and more like the TA05 (which was superb) it will be ok with me.. realistically I'm getting one whatever :)

Love my TA05v2 to bits but it's positively antique now (although it's still competitive in the heats I run in). The TA06 was one I happily ignored as it just looks "wrong", so I've got high hopes for the TA07. Just a shame it'll probably not be available until the end of the summer so I'll have to get something else to run with for the outdoor season.

Hmm, one belt? So it's got to be some sort of TA06-esque rear gearbox? Dunno now, it's got a distinct whiff of trying to be too clever and ultimately not being outstanding at anything. Bit like a TA06. Hope I'm wrong though.

TRF419-style suspension, steering, and diffs all sound good. I think I had read somewhere the 419 diffs are pretty smooth. The battery access is easier and the wiring is cleaner. The main question for me is how the single belt works -- based on that picture it does seem like a gear drive to the rear and a single belt to the front. I don't think that's a bad thing. I do wonder if there are any sacrifices in handling because the battery and motor aren't along the center line of the chassis anymore.

Can't wait for the first reports on builds and track tests!

I'm so curious about this aspect. That said I like the 06 rear gearbox idea. I like the idea of less belts. Should be more RWD-like given that the rear wheels have a more direct driveline. I'd like a car that is RWD with 4-wheel braking. 2WD RCs locking up the rear wheels breaks the realism aspect for me.

Some of the more tantalizing features include the three different motor mount positions and adjustable chassis stiffness. They emphasize a single belt, so maybe no rear gearbox? Very interesting.

Edit: I see a post on RCTech suggesting the drivetrain might be like the Losi XXX-S touring car. Sure enough, it's a single belt fed past a central idler. The idea seems to be 10-15 years old. That doesn't mean it's a bad idea. Couple it with the TRF419 influences and it could be great!

Love the sealed, adjustable single belt drive train, very clever.

Looks like a capable track car, that should be robust.

The pictures look good.

It just dawned on me -- is IFS dead?  That was a feature on TA05IFS, TB03, TA05V2, TA06, and TB04 that allowed for really low-nose body shells.  I don't see other locations for bellcranks or shock mounting.

I hope Tamiya brings out a base-spec TA07 chassis with several new body sets for the more casual street basher as well; the argument of shaft vs. belt in dirty conditions seems moot at this point.

I wonder if this exoskeleton chassis construction will become more common...  The TA07 is the first time I've seen it, but then this morning I just saw an image for the Overdose XEX.

It's a Deans connector with a shroud kind of thing. They come with the batteries. It's a bit odd that all the LF batteries have Deans connectors but all the ESCs are still Tamiya plugs.

Interesting that the ESC on that Pro is not a stock Tamiya plug though. Maybe they might actually introduce a next gen esc with deans compatible connector! At least their shroud looks like it would make disconnecting easier. The deans plugs have very little to grip really as my only bug bear.
