Hey guys,

So I've been out lately thrashing around my Mud Blaster around a track. It was holding its own relatively well, but it got me thinking about what people did back in the day. I've got myself a 2015 rere rear end, and my side plates to help it from skipping gears and its working fantastic. I've ran 40+ packs of 2s through it with my 20t axial (now being pushed by a sidewinder 3) and today was its first test with 3s. Man alive does she ever cook with 3s! Anywho I noticed that the front end is reaaaaally stiff, almost to the point of having to thick of fluid for how heavy the spring rate is and how light (heavy?) the truck is. What would have been the oil weight back in the day for these old beasts? It also go me thinking as I have gained a Brat (ORV) and have a left over original trans/rear end. I could take some measurements and end up making my own Sassy Chassis inspired chassis out of aluminum or carbon fiber (or both) and retire my Runner from race duty. Im thinking more of a sandwich style construction with some axial aluminum uprights, some plush modern shocks, and perhaps a low cg. I really think it would be a lot of fun and would really make some of the guys I race with have to hustle even more now.
