Ok so perhaps I have someone's attention I have a TA06 stock chassis, and I have a castle sidewinder 3 esc and brushless motor. I hooked it up and it's pretty stupid but overheat went quick. I'm sure the gearing ratios would need adjusted but to what, or should I not be so stupid and put a regular motor in the car.any thoughts

Backlash hit the nail on the head, we need info.

If it's something crazy like a 9000kv with tall gears, yeah your going to burn the thing down. You can run fans but ultimately they are more of a band aid than a fix.

The biggest thing to remember with brushless and lipo systems, it's better to volt up, and gear down.

change to a 21 pinion and 70 spur and test the temps, if still getting hot to quick drop a further 2 off the pinion and that should have you pretty well sorted

Thanks I'll give it a try.

I should add, if it's not warming up to quickly with 21/70, but still getting to hot, you could get a competition grade heatsink and fan combo from the likes of Wild Turbo Fans

I'm Irish I rarely do things by half measures, kinda like you Texans

I'm currently trying to find and fit a 4000kv or higher sensored brushless to run with some 60c 4000 mah 2s lipos, and that's only coz I can't fit my 100c 8000 mah 2s lipos in the blitzer beetle/bear hawk chassis without dremelling the chassis to accept my race hardcase lipos *lol*

tho if I make a custom battery holder I could use my 5000 mah 50c 3s lipo.... if I had the skill to custom make stuff....

Crazy Kiwi drunk with power, looking for power tools lmao

*lol* that's nothing compared to what I was thinking of doing to a df-02 rising storm, and that was fit a brushless motor around the 5.5t range :D

and I have attacked that chassis to take my more tame 60c 5800 mah 2s lipos *lol*
