Monster truck hpi

Sorry in advance, didn't know where to post this.

I bought a old hpi mt with a dodge body off ebay and the dude said it was a runner.I have done the checks I know of and can't get it to fire up.

Looking where I would expect the lsn to be I see this set up which seems to just screw un, but have no 'give' for the low speed setting.

Anyone have any advice perhaps?

thanks bud. I've decided the motor is bunked. Have one coming from the States.

This old thing has been superceded about four times and the hpi site doesn't even stock ANY of the parts anymore lol

But I really want to blast it around. I'll doctor it.
