Only 10 Leftid="red">id="size2">

My welder made me up another 10 of these. Here is a pic of them.

These will be the last run made of these id="red">id="size2">for quite a while as we are going to start on the front bumpers next. if you have been wanting one of these then don't put off buying one any longer. One of these beauties could be sitting on your Sand Scorcher or Rough Rider for the small price of $50 plus shipping.

the roll cages are really sweet Jim! I have polished the two I bought from you and they look killer! I wonder why Tamiya didn't make 'em in the first place?

Thanks for the compliments. I was really pleased with the quality and consistency this new batch has.

I think Tamiya chose the plastic rear guard as it's more lucrative to sell you a part that breaks really easy as opposed to making something more durable made of aluminum.

After this batch of cages are completed, it's on to the design phase of a box art Sand Scorcher front bumper.

Here is a photo of how nice they look all polished up.

Scott I only have 1 left now. I am trying to get my welder to make me 5 more. He is a bit reluctant because these cages are very timeconsuming to make. I will let you know is he decides to make more.

Jim,

I got mine yesterday, very nice. I didn't know it came with the antenna holder also.

There is some quality craftsmanship there, if these were made by HTW (Harry the Welder) give him a high five from me.[:P]

You bought one before I had the right size clips. If you send me your address, I can send you one

Okay, I was able to persuade my welder to make me 10 more. So if you wanted one of these, then don't delay as I don't think I will be able to talk him into making anymore.

I will be getting 10 of these on this friday. The first 30 went fairly quick. I am not sure how many more my welder will be interested in making. Anyone interested in one can e-mail me shodog@homail.com

The cages are great, polished one and put into my shelf SS, only the distance between the vertical bars where the exhaust stack mounts are a bit more distanced then in the original, so you can't mount the exhaust on both, maybe if someone would make some longer exhaust clips?

Theo, yours did'nt have the clip extenders[?][:(]??Jim must have forgot to put them on yours[:o)][;)]..LOL Jerry

Oh boy Jerry, look what you started

My cages are made with round stock that is slightly thicker than the original stuff. So the stock mounting clips are not big enough to go around and mount to the exhaust. Otherwise the cage fits the stock dimensions and no modification is needed to install it.

There are a bit thicker, but this is no big problem for the clips, the problem is the rear vertical bars are approx. 5mm further away than on the stock one. Jim do you have clip extenders?

Thanks

Sorry about that Jim.[;)].LOL[;)] Anyway this is what I have done.. the pipe can be installed quite nicely using black tie wrapes..use two on the bottom as you would for the aftermarket torshion bars...The antenna mount can be used for the top as a mounting lug..it fits perfectly over the attachment hole on the pipe. use a small washer over the screw..These are great roll bars and remember that most aftermarket stuff requires slight mods to install..All you will need is an additonal 1/4 inch cable clamp to install the antenna..I also put fake screws in the mounting holes that were not used...IF you want a picture just email me. Again great parts JIm and nicely welded a rarity on these cages...Jerry

Your right DJtheo, I measured mine compared to a stock one and there is about a 5mm difference. An easy way to get around this is to take black painted strips of lexan to make make longer clips. I am going to have my welder look into revising the dimensions in that area.

I still have 3 left but I think these that I have will be the last for a while. He has all the jigs but he always wants me to buy at least 10. Next i want to start on the Box art front bumper and a bumper that would look scale for the Rough Rider
